Individual counseling is a service available to all second through fifth grade students at Dennis Elementary. Students wanting to meet with their school counselor may make a self-referral by telling their teacher or by filling out a referral form and placing it in their grade level counselor’s mailbox. In addition to student self-referrals, teachers, parents, and any support staff may also make referrals for students to meet with their school counselor.
Individual counseling is offered on a short term, solution-focused basis. School counselors are happy to offer referrals and suggestions for clinical counselors for any student and parent who feel their child requires longer term counseling services. Please contact your assigned counselor for outside counseling recommendations and referrals.
* Student conversations with the counselor will remain confidential unless reported that the student or someone else is in danger. According to Ohio law, all school personnel are mandated to report child abuse or neglect.
