The mission of the school counseling program at Dennis Elementary is to support all students by developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum designed to help with students’ academic, career, and social/emotional growth. The school counselors will create a safe, encouraging, respectful atmosphere to help students reach their full potential. Counselors will also engage, prepare, inspire, and challenge all students to be lifelong learners and respectful, responsible world citizens.

 

We Believe: 

  1. We believe every student is unique and worthy of respect. 
  2. We believe every student has the right to equal access to participate in the school counseling program. 
  3. We believe that nurturing  all students social/emotional will impact academic development and future success for all students. 
  4. We believe the school counselor's role is to provide a data driven , developmental counseling program that meets the needs of every student through counseling curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support.
  5. We believe the school counseling program will promote the understanding of and respect for self and others, problem solving and decision making skills, and the skills for learning and the influence of academic habits that impact career success. 
  6. We believe that the school counseling program will advocate for all students, teachers, parents, administrators and the community in a way that will positively impact students and make them successful.
