Welcome

Welcome to Springboro Community Schools’ web site. It is our hope that you will find this site helpful and informative. All of us work hard to keep this site current with the most up-to-date information. As a result, if you see something that is outdated or needs addressed, please contact our Community Information Officer, Linda Oda at loda@springboro.org. She will be happy to work with you on whatever changes and/or additions need to be made.

Springboro Community Schools continues to grow with about 250 new students each year. For the 2007-2008 school year, we now have more than 5,300 students registered, as well as almost 600 staff members. We are the largest employer in the Springboro community, and enjoy a strong working relationship with our local governments and civic organizations.

Last school year, we finished the most aggressive building project in the history of the school district. Students and staff enjoyed the new Dennis and Five Points Elementary Schools, as well as 50-percent additions at the high school and junior high.

In May, Springboro Community Schools announced the first partnership of its kind in the state of Ohio. Your school district has joined with Miami Valley Hospital for several projects. The most obvious to those attending Friday night football games will be the artificial turf in the athletic stadium, which has been renamed CareFlight Field. Later this year, construction will begin on a 40,000 square foot building behind the home stadium seats (next to Springboro Junior High School). Part of this building – which will be paid for by Miami Valley Hospital – will be used for athletic locker rooms and coaches’ offices. The largest portion of the building will be used for medical offices, so that staff and students can receive routine and emergency medical care without leaving the school campus. We are very proud of this accomplishment, and we promise to continue to look for new and creative ways to finance our needs.

Academically, Springboro Community Schools has established itself as one of the best school districts in the state of Ohio by once again earning another “excellent” rating on the Ohio District Report Card. Through the work of Sandy Warner, our Executive Director of Curriculum, we continue to push for higher standards among our teachers and students. Today’s world is driven by data, and we are finding ways to use student data to improve individual test scores. Yes, working with students individually takes a great deal of time, but it also yields the highest level of success. We will not rest until each one of our students is achieving at their highest possible level.

I would like to personally invite all of our residents to visit your schools at any time. We would love to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.

Respectfully,

Dr. David D. Baker

Superintendent of Schools
