David D. Baker, PhD, Superintendent of Schools
Dr. David Baker begins his eighth year as Superintendent with the Springboro Community City Schools and his 37th year in education. He has been a music teacher, assistant principal, Director of Pupil Personnel, Director of Personnel, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. He received his Bachelor's Degree from The Ohio State University where he was a four-year member of the marching band. He received his Master's Degree in 1972 from The Ohio State University and his doctorate in 1980 from The Ohio State University. Dave is also a FAA -licensed pilot, holding private, instrument, and commercial ratings. Dave and his wife Donna have been married for 39 years, and reside in Clearcreek Township. Donna owns and operates two daycare centers, Alphabet Child Care Centers. They have two children. Amy is married and is an attorney with the Dayton firm of Freund, Freeze & Arnold, while Kristin is a graduate of Marshall University.

Timothy W. Dettwiller, Treasurer/CFO
Tim Dettwiller begins his eighth year as the Treasurer/CFO for the Springboro Community City Schools and his 21st in government finance. He was previously the Treasurer/CFO for the Madison Plains Local School District and prior to that enjoyed 13 years with the Auditor of State of Ohio’s Office. Tim received his Bachelors degree in accounting from Wilmington College in 1987. While at Wilmington Tim was honored as a 3 time National Wrestling Tournament Qualifier. Tim is recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association as a “Certified Government Finance Manager”. He has also been certified by the State of Ohio Treasurer’s Center for Public Investment Management. Tim and his wife Robin have been married for 21 years and reside in Clearcreek Township. Robin is a first grade teacher for Springboro Schools. They are the proud parents of Tim Jr., a 2006 Springboro graduate now attending Wilmington College, as well as Springboro Panthers Jim, Rebecca and Rachel.

Larry R. Hook, Assistant Superintendent of Schools
Mr. Larry Hook begins his sixth year as Assistant Superintendent with the Springboro Community City School District. Mr. Hook’s educational career has spanned the public secondary level as well as the college and university levels. He has taught Microbiology, Genetics, Bioecology, Biology, Exercise Physiology and a variety of Physical Education courses. He has been a Head Football and Head Track Coach at the high school and collegiate level, as well as being an Assistant Athletic Director, Assistant High School Principal, Junior High Principal, High School Principal and Assistant Superintendent. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Central University of Iowa where he was a four year starter and an All-Conference center on the 1974 National Championship Football Team. He received his Master’s degree and additional post-graduate work from Xavier University and has earned his Superintendent’s certification with the Ohio Department of Education. Mr. Hook is married to Paula, and has 5 children, Nicole, Aaron, Lindsee, Hayden, and Haylee. Besides spending time with his family, Larry enjoys running and is an avid scuba diver.

Sandra Warner, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Mrs. Sandy Warner begins her fourth year at Springboro Community School District as Director of Instruction. This is her 31st year in education. Her educational career consists of 21 years of classroom experience in multiple levels from grades 1-8, with 14 of those years in first grade. She has served as the Director of Curriculum and Language Arts specialist at the Educational Service Center in Portage County, Ohio for three years, moving to Greene County Educational Service Center in the same capacity also for three years. She has served as an adjunct faculty member at Ashland University for 5 years, and taught the Ohio Academic Content Standards to teachers through Wright State University. Mrs. Warner received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an elementary math minor through Bowling Green State University, with her Master’s Degree attained through the University of Akron. She has taken post-graduate classes through Ashland University. Mrs. Warner resides with her husband, Phil, in Wilmington. They have two daughters, Erin and Lindsay. Erin also a graduate of Bowling Green, resides and works in Gahanna, OH. Lindsay is a graduate of Otterbein College, lives and works in the Columbus, OH area.

George Long, Business Manager
Mr. George Long begins his fifth year as the Business Manager for the Springboro Community School District. His work with schools has been exclusively on the business side of the district, holding prior positions as Director of Food Services, Director of Transportation, and Business Manager prior to starting with Springboro Schools. He received his Bachelor degree from Wilmington College in business and attained his Master of Education from Ohio University. Mr. Long is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education as a school district treasurer and business manager. Mr. Long, and his wife Jennifer, are the parents of two girls, Erin and Lydia.

Teresa Rand, Director of Special Education
Mrs. Teresa Rand has been an employee of Springboro Community Schools for seven years with a total of 27 years experience in the educational field. Mrs. Rand received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and holds Ohio certificates in the areas of Secondary Principal, Supervision, and a Permanent Special Education teaching certificate. Her educational career includes teaching special needs students at the elementary, junior high and high school levels, Work Study Coordinator, and Special Education Supervisor. Mrs. Rand and her husband Darrell, reside in Hamilton.

Steve Whitefield, District Technology Coordinator
Mr. Steve Whitefield is completing his eleventh year with the Springboro School District as the District's Technology Coordinator. He has also held the Springboro High School women's varsity soccer coaching position. His previous career spanned 21 years in private industry where he designed radio communications equipment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana. He resides in Springboro with his wife Gale. They are the parents of Lindsey, Marshall, and Robyn all Springboro graduates. Lindsey, a cum laude graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, is pursuing Fashion Design in Manhattan. Marshall is currently a senior at The Ohio State University, majoring in Peace Keeping and International studies. Robyn, also a senior, is attending Bowling Green State University, pursuing a major in Special Education with emphasis in Deaf Education.

Linda Oda, Public Information Officer
Mrs. Linda Oda has served as the district's public information officer for three years as a consultant, and is beginning her second year full-time. She has 30 years of experience in the fields of print media and public relations. For the past 11 years, she has worked with three Warren County public school districts, as well as the Anthony Munoz Foundation. Mrs. Oda received her Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University, and taught third grade for one year for the Sugarcreek Local Schools. She has been recognized with the Mark of Excellence award by the Ohio Chapter of NSPRA in several categories, including photography, feature writing, newsletters and calendars. Mrs. Oda is a board member for the Warren County MR/DD. A lifelong resident of Clearcreek Township, both of Mrs. Oda's grandparents were former members of the Clearcreek Local Board of Education (now Springboro Board of Education), and her parents graduated from SHS in 1956. Her husband Don is a Warren County Court Judge. They have two children in Springboro schools, Samantha and Donnie.
