Welcome

Image of Gene LolliWelcome to the website for the Springboro Community School district. Our district represents a strong tradition of excellence in education. This tradition began when Springboro was a much smaller town and many would say that it was a much simpler time. Through all of the changes in the world and here at home, our school district has stayed true to the demanding principles of a well-rounded education. We have met the challenges to make tough economic decisions and face unprecedented growth while still accomplishing our mission in the classroom.

The State of Ohio recently announced that our school district received the ranking of “Excellent with Distinction.” Each of our schools: Clearcreek, Dennis East, Dennis West, Five Points East, Five Points West, Springboro Intermediate, Springboro Junior High and Springboro High School increased its Performance Index Score in 2010-2011.  The “Excellent with Distinction” rating requires that districts not only pass the State student tests, but also show more than the expected growth in student achievement.  Of the three years that this higher rating has been available, the Springboro Community School district has earned this highest rating two of the last three years.

Earlier this year, the United States Department of Education named our high school a 2011 National Blue Ribbon School. SHS is one of only two high schools in the State of Ohio to receive this honor. Springboro was nominated and awarded for its rank among Ohio’s highest performing schools as measured by criteria including performance on state assessments.

We thank every teacher, staff, and student for his or her part in these achievements. But we also thank the parents, families, residents and businesses of our community as they support us in keeping our students competitive.  According to the Ohio Department of Education, Springboro Community Schools closed with 5,755 students registered for the 2010-2011 school year.  Through the years, the support of our community allowed us to build and improve our facilities so that we could accommodate the number of students in the district. And when we faced the challenge to do more with less in a tough economy, the district’s parents and families stepped in to raise money to invest in our classrooms, our technology and our students.

As the largest employer in the Springboro-Clearcreek Township community, we enjoy a strong working relationship with our local governments and civic organizations. The success of our district and our students is founded in the partnerships we share with the community, local governments, parents and residents.

Academically, Springboro Community School District has established itself as one of the best school districts in the State of Ohio. But we will not rest on our accomplishments. Our world is changing. The challenge to teach the fundamentals while preparing our students to compete in the global work force shapes our curriculum and our future. We also ask each and every one of you to continue to help us keep our students competitive.

We hope that you find this site helpful and informative. All of us work hard to keep this website current. If you see something that is outdated or needs to be addressed, please contact the webmaster at webmaster@springboro.org. If you would like to learn more about our schools or see them first hand, residents of our district and guests are welcome to visit at any time. We would enjoy the opportunity to meet with you and answer your questions.

Sincerely,

Gene Lolli
