Scott Anderson Mr. Anderson graduated from Bowling Green State University and manages a local Bank in Springboro. He has been married to his wife Candy for 22 years and has two children, Scott and Madison. Scott attends The Ohio State University and Madison attends the Junior High. Mr. Anderson has been deeply involved in the Springboro Community. His previous contributions include being a member of Springboro City Council where he was a member of the Finance and Park Board Committees. He has also served as a Board Member for the Springboro Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement and Miami Valley Communications Council.

Mrs. Kelly Kohls, Vice-President

Mrs. Kelly Kohls is a professional nutritionist with expertise in research and dietary management. Kelly has five children currently enrolled in the Springboro Community City School system. She has been married to her husband Tom for 26 years. Kelly received her Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For the last quarter century she has taught at various institutions, including the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and Miami University, and she is currently an adjunct instructor at the Art Institute of Ohio in Cincinnati. For 15 of those years, Kelly concurrently operated a private nutrition practice. Kelly manages a family of seven and gives back to the community with many varied volunteer activities. Kelly is committed to ensuring that the children of the Springboro community receive an excellent education, while keeping the costs of that education affordable by carefully adhering to responsible spending.

Mr. Don Miller, Board Member

Mr. Don Miller, a Financial Analyst and second term BOE member, earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from St. Leo University and an MBA from Wright State University. He separated from active duty in 2004 after eight years of service. He now proudly serves as an Air Force Reservist. He has extensive experience with what-if and cut-drills often necessary to manage funds in highly dynamic budget environments. Throughout his career, Don has been responsible for multi-billion dollar budgets, in various appropriations, working funding cuts into schedules and plans for successful execution with minimum critical program impacts. Don and his family chose to make Springboro their permanent home in 2003 so their school age children could benefit from the excellent schools and close knit community. Don actively supported various Springboro Community School activities prior to his BOE position and continues that support today.

Mr. David Petroni, Board Member

Mr. David Petroni graduated from The Florida State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Marketing. He now has more than twenty years experience in finance and public policy specializing in real estate. Prior to starting his company, he held senior management positions at large real estate development organizations. David founded a nonprofit chartered by the State of Florida to assist low to moderate-income families. He has been active in other community nonprofit organizations including: Educate Springboro, the Chamber of Commerce, and is a past Rotarian. For seven years he was elected to the board of the Settlers Walk association, where he served both as President and Treasurer. In 2005 David was appointed by Ohio Governor Taft to serve on the State of Ohio’s Housing Trust Advisory Committee. This Committee, responsible to recommend on average $50 million annually, provided resources to organizations that serve homeless people and families in need of affordable housing across the State of Ohio.

Mr. Jim Rigano, Board Member

Mr. Jim Rigano graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. He now has more than thirty years professional experience in engineering, data analysis, and project management. He has been married to this wife Susan for 30 years and his two sons are graduates of Springboro Schools. He is a 21-year resident of Clearcreek Township. Mr. Rigano previously served on the Springboro School Board from 2002 to 2005.
