Staff Biographies
Daffaney Combs, Payroll Officer
Daffaney Combs is the Payroll Officer for Springboro Community City Schools. Daffaney has been a school employee since 1991. She worked as a building secretary for 6 years and the balance of her time has been in the Treasurer/CFO’s Office. Before coming to Springboro Daffaney was a Customer Service Representative for an insurance agency in Middletown. Daffaney’s husband David works at Clearcreek Elementary and they have two children, Heather and Michael. Daffaney processes our payroll and maintains employee payroll records.
Cindy Florio, Account Clerk II
Cindy Florio is an Account Clerk II for Springboro Community City Schools, assigned to the Payroll Department. She has been with Springboro Schools since March 2003. Cindy came from Clinton-Massie Local Schools, where she was employed for 16 years. In her 16 years at Clinton-Massie Cindy worked as the Middle School Secretary/EMIS for 7 years then moved up to work as Budgetary & Payroll Clerk for 9 years. Cindy's husband Chris is a Springboro graduate. Chris works at Ernst & Young and is a part time firefighter for the Clearcreek Township Fire Department. They have have two boys, Jacob and Isaac..
Cindy Howard, Assistant to the Treasurer
Cindy Howard is the Assistant to the Treasurer for Springboro Community Schools and has been with the District since August 2001. Cindy came from Lebanon City Schools where she was their EMIS Coordinator for 5 years. CIndy's role in the Treasurer's Office include EMIS duties, Board packet preparation, E-Rate, fixed asset management, and special projects. Cindy monitors federal grants and student activities. Cindy and her husband Jeff, are graduates of Springboro High School. Jeff owns a voice and data Communications Company. They have three children, Tara, Tyler and Travis. Tara is a graduate from Boston University. Tyler is a graduate of Springboro High School and will attend college in the fall. Travis is a senior at Lebanon High School.
Dianne Kemper, Budgetary Officer
Dianne Kemper has worked in the Treasurer/CFO’s Office since August of 1980. She is the Budgetary Officer and reports to the CFO. Dianne oversees the purchase order/requisition process, accounts payable/receivables and the budgetary process. Dianne is a life-long resident of Springboro and graduated from Springboro High School. Dianne’s husband, Wayne Kemper, and both of their children are also Springboro graduates. Wayne is a mail carrier in Middletown and has coached basketball and track at Springboro for several years. They have a son, Sean and a daughter, Stacie.
Pam Nichols is an Account Clerk II for the Springboro Community City Schools. She has been with Springboro Schools since January 2001. Before coming to Springboro Schools Pam was a payroll clerk at Burrows Paper Corporation. Pam’s husband Mike, is retired from AK Steel and they have 2 wonderful daughters Jill and Kimberly. Pam also has 2 beautiful granddaughters Brittney and Lily. Pam’s role is to process Receivables and Payables for the District.
Lou Ann Zeigler, Account Clerk I
Lou Ann Zeigler is the most recent addition to the Treasurer/CFO Office, joining the team in April 2006. Lou Ann is an Account Clerk I with her main responsibilities being Accounts Payable. Lou Ann grew up in Springboro and graduated SHS in 1986. She is also an alumnus of The Ohio State University. After college, Lou Ann went on to attend Capital Law School to obtain her Paralegal Certificate. Most recently, Lou Ann was fortunate enough to stay at home with her children for 5 years. Previously, she worked as an Account Relationship Associate III for the Commercial Lending department at Huntington National Bank in Columbus, OH. She and her husband Jeff, moved back to her home town of Springboro in 2001 after living in Columbus for 12 years. Jeff is the Huntington Investment Team Leader for the Dayton and surrounding areas. Jeff and Lou Ann have 2 children in Springboro Schools, Claudia and Ben.
Jennifer Appelbaum, Student Registrar / Data Manager
Jennifer Appelbaum is in her 11th year with Springboro Community Schools. Her new responsibility as Student Registrar/Data Manager is a reflection of her strong knowledge of software and troubleshooting. She began as a receptionist, working her way to Executive Secretary to the Superintendent. Mrs. Appelbaum earned an Administrative Assistant Certificate from RETS Tech Center and is currently working to earn a MicroSoft Office Specialist Certification. A lifelong resident of Springboro, Mrs. Appelbaum and her husband Steve have a son, Joshua Moore, who is a 2001 graduate of Springboro High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of Dayton. She has been active in the community, volunteering for the Springboro/Clearcreek Baseball Association and as an EMT on the Clearcreek Life Squad. Mrs. Appelbaum is proud of the fact that her entire family – aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. – are all SHS graduates. “I bleed Springboro Blue,” she said.
