The team competed in Daytona Beach, FL against 27 other teams from high schools across the nation this past May. They finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the three judged categories, collectively earning them the overall championship title.

Prior to the session, a Resolution was adopted by members of the Senate of the 132nd General Assembly of Ohio to commemorate the Drill Team accomplishments. Senator Wilson presented the team with a certificate to commemorate the Resolution in front of members of the 132nd Assembly. Cadet Group Commander, Brittany Massey, thanked the Assembly and accepted the Resolution certificate on behalf of the Springboro Community City School District.

Further, graduated cadet and former Drill Team Commander, Tyler Johannssen, was presented a Certificate of Outstanding Attainment by Senator Wilson. Johannssen was recognized for winning the Unarmed Commander’s Trophy for top commander at the All-Service National Championships. He is currently a freshman at Bowling Green State University and is enrolled in Air Force ROTC.
