Gov. DeWine and state education officials have mentioned that Ohio Schools (K-12) for the 2020-2021 school year will be in session. Springboro Schools has been given local control, with safety parameters in mind, as to how that will look for our district this August. We have consulted with the Ohio Department of Education (ODE), as well as the Warren County Department of Health as we make final decisions for the start of school.
While the district has no official guidance, or decision, from state officials for the start of next school year, we are (again) gathering further information/feedback from our parents/guardians, in order to reach a final decision. We will use the information collected from this second survey to help guide our final planning for the beginning of the upcoming school year, in order to provide our community with as much time as possible to plan.
Please answer (one entry per family) these questions by Tuesday, June 23 using the information you have available today. We realize information continues to change daily, and your answers may shift as more information becomes available.
At this time, Springboro Schools is preparing for two (2) options:
OPTION A:
Students/staff go back to school, in buildings. A full offering of five days of instruction on site with safety protocols in place (face coverings for students when proper social distancing is not possible). Each classroom will be live-streamed, online, for any student unable to attend school.
OPTION B:
50% of students go back to school, with the other 50% taking class online. The students rotate between in school and At Home Learning. Each classroom will be live-streamed, online, for any student unable to attend school, or not physically in class. Split delivery model with 50% of the students in attendance at one time, with limited face coverings in place.
Please Note: With either of these options, there is a strong possibility the school calendar could be amended to a later start date, transportation routes could change, and families would likely need to plan on purchasing face coverings for their students to use at school. Also, PreSchool requires different licensing, which is not apart of the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). Rather, the district's PreSchool licensing is derived from the Ohio Department of Jobs & Family Services (ODJFS). Procedures for PreSchool will be in accordance with ODJFS guidelines.
