Congratulations to Springboro High School Junior Theo DeRosa on his selection to attend the Henry Clay Center for Statesmanship High School Student Congress from June 10-15, 2019. The Congress will occur on the campus of Transylvania University in partnership with the University of Kentucky and Marymount University.

The High School Student Congress gathers fifty (50) students together from across the country with lawmakers, academics, journalists, and business leaders, and the Henry Clay Center for Statesmanship covers all costs for participants. Rising high school seniors (juniors in the 2018-2019 school year) were chosen through a competitive application process. Students who demonstrate academic excellence, interest in relevant coursework in history, government and economics, and a commitment to public service are selected.

Alumni of the Henry Clay Center serve in a variety of professions, including as elected state and local officials, staffers in the US. House and Senate, and corporate and legal professionals in the private sector. Senators Trent Lott and Tom Daschle serve as the Honorary Co-Chairs for the Board of Directors for the Center whose strategic mission is to change the nature of our country’s political discourse and the manner in which our nation approaches ideological divisions.
