2019-20 Beginning of the Year Information

2019 SUMMER
Main Office Hours:  May 28 - June 10 & July 26 - August 13: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

August 8:  New Student Orientation, 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Junior High students new to the district and their parents will meet with the Junior High administration and school counselors.  Students will receive their class schedule, be able to practice their locker combination, and locate their classrooms throughout the building.

August 8: Early Schedule Pickup for Special Education Students, 12:00-1:00 p.m. Students with disabilities and their parents/guardians are invited to meet the Junior High administration  and their student’s case manager. In addition, the students will receive their class schedule, be able to practice their locker combination, and locate their classrooms. Feel free to stop in at any time during this hour time frame.

August 8: Early Schedule Pickup for all seventh and eighth graders, 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. All Junior High students are invited to visit the Junior High to receive their class schedule, practice their locker combination, and locate their classrooms throughout the building. Feel free to bring in student's school supplies to store in their locker. Visit the building anytime between 2:00-6:00 p.m….the traffic in the hallway is usually lighter later in the afternoon. 

  • Please note that incoming 7th grade students without an updated immunization record or incoming 7th/8th grade students with outstanding student fee balances from a previous school year will not be able to receive their class schedules during Early Schedule Pickup. These students will receive their schedule on August 14, the first day of school, during homeroom. 


August 15: Curriculum Night/Open House, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Come meet your student’s teachers and learn more about the exciting curriculum that will engage them during the school year! Visit anytime during these two hours.

Immunization Requirements, 2019-20 School Year:

There are 2 Vaccines required by the Ohio Department of Health for entry into 7th Grade:

  • A diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus (Tdap) booster. This immunization needs to have been given no sooner than the child’s 10th birthday.

  • 1st Dose of the Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccine.

Low cost immunizations are available through the Warren County Health Department, 513-695-2097.

Please provide an updated vaccine record to the school as verification that your child has had the Tdap Booster and the 1st Meningococcal (MCV4) Vaccine. This record will be required for your student by August 14th, 2019.

In addition, the updated record must be turned in to the school in order for your 7th grade student to receive their schedule at Early Schedule Pick-up on Thursday, August 8, 2019.

 

Updated vaccine records can be dropped off throughout the summer months at the Board of Education Office with the receptionist:

If you choose not to immunize your child, then an Exemption Letter must be completed. This can be found on the district website. The exemption must be dated after July 1, 2019.

2019-20 Bus Transportation

In the days leading up to the first day of school on Wednesday, August 14, parents/guardians will be notified once they are able to check their students’ pick up/drop off bus information via an online program called, Info Finder. Bus information is not released until this time, as new student registrations throughout the summer impact bus routes and subsequent pick up/drop off times.
