Springboro High School Senior Evan Phillippi received the
prestigious 2019 Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award from the Warren County
Educational Services Center (ESC).
The
Warren County ESC hosted the fourth annual luncheon for scholarship recipients,
their families, school district personnel and county elected officials. During
this ceremony, one (1) senior student from each participating school district in
Warren County was recognized as a 2019 Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award
winner, with one (1) overall winner chosen from the group. Evan Phillippi,
Springboro High School, was selected as the 2019 overall winner.
Another Springboro High School Senior, who attends the Warren
County Career Center full-time for Graphic Arts, Zoe Hill received the 2019
All-Scholastic Franklin B. Walter Scholarship Award as a student representing
the Warren County Career Center.
Both Evan Phillippi (Senior - Springboro High School) and Zoe
Hill (Graphic Arts Senior - Warren County Career Center) received a $500
scholarship that is given to one (1) student from each Warren County school
district to recognize superior academic achievement.
The Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award also recognizes the
teachers those students have chosen as having a positive impact in their lives.
Evan Phillippi recognized Springboro High School teacher Rory Korzan and Zoe
Hill recognized Warren County Career Center English Instructor Kelly McGhee.
As part of the application process for the Franklin B. Walter
All-Scholastic Award, students had to submit a list of extracurricular or community
activities including awards/honors, class offices held, student government activities,
athletics, and music/theater, as well as a written statement discussing their
short-term and long-term goals, both professional and personal.
