SHS Honors Distinguished Graduate Award

SHS Distinguished Graduate

The Distinguished Graduate award is a new honor given out this year at Springboro High School (SHS). The Distinguished Graduate award was created as a way to recognize students who meet extremely high academic standards during their time at SHS. As a result of doing away with class rank, a valedictorian/salutatorian are no longer named. This award was created to ensure that the highest achieving students in the graduating class are still recognized.

The criteria required to be named as a Distinguished Graduate is included below (as it is written in the SHS Program of Studies):

DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE
Students can earn the honor of being a Distinguished Graduate.
Students must meet the following criteria (must meet #1 and one
of the criteria of #2) to be eligible for recognition of a Distinguished
Graduate of Springboro High School:

1. A percentage grade point average of one hundred percent (100%)
or above.

2. A composite score of thirty (30) or above on the ACT and/or 1400
or above on the SAT

These students will be recognized at the SHS Senior Awards Night in May and will be given a medal to wear during graduation.
