Springboro Heads to Cross Country State Championship

SI Students Show Support The Cross County (XC) State Championship Meet takes place on Saturday, November 2nd. Springboro Intermediate students, as well as Springboro community members, lined up along Main St. to cheer on the Springboro Girls/Boys Cross Country teams, as they left for State by bus.

At the Division-I Regional Cross Country Meet last weekend, the Girls Cross Country team qualified for the State Meet. Only the Top 5 teams and Top 20 Individuals qualify for State. Springboro Girls XC qualified as a team.

The top finishers for Springboro were Jenna Schwinghamer ( 10th), Manon Blackman (12th), and Zoe Chappelle (22nd). Other qualifiers include Cara Mooney, Kate Herr, Julia Stone, and Megan Saylor.

The Boys XC finished 10th as a team, however, Alex Berardi finished 14th, which earned him a spot at State.

The Cross County (XC) State Championship Meet takes place on tomorrow at National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio. The Girls team will race at 12:30pm and Alex will race in the Boys Division I race at 3:00 pm. Go Panthers!
