SJHS 7th Grade students from the Enriched Language Arts (ELA) class, along with Principal Jon Franks, presented at tonight's Board of Education meeting about their recent mock trial on the classic novel, "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton.
At the mock trial, the character of Johnny Cade, from "The Outsiders," was put on trial. The defense and prosecution were tasked with proving whether Johnny acted in self-defense or not.
Jury decisions were split two for and two against in four trials. Judge Kirby presided over two of those trials.
