Local Lemonade Stands Provide Hurricane Relief Help

Over the weekend, several lemonade stands were put on by local third and fourth grade students from Springboro, Incarnation, and Oakwood in support of those affected by Hurricane Maria, specifically in Puerto Rico.

Due to virtually the entire island being without power and only about 25% of people with running water, the students were looking to raise money for specific items of need that would help the people of Puerto Rico during these difficult times; batteries, water filters, fans, flashlights, tarps, rope, etc.

Four lemonade stands were held this weekend (Sept. 22-24); three lemonade stands by a Dennis Elementary student and Oakwood students, as well as one lemonade stand by a student from Incarnation. More than $500 total was raised, with all proceeds going to the purchase and shipping of the aforementioned items to Puerto Rican families in need.

Thank you to the many local community members who took time out of their day to stop by and make a donation!
