SHS Air Force JROTC Cadets Volunteer
SHS AFJROTC Cadets at MarathonFor the third year in a row, SHS Air Force Junior ROTC cadets volunteered at the annual Air Force Marathon at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Twenty (20) cadets, comprised of seniors and juniors, came out in support of this unique volunteer opportunity. Cadets worked at hydration station “Q” located at the 21-mile marker of the full marathon. They filled cups and handed out water as the runners passed by. The team participated in a joint effort along side of college Air Force ROTC cadets from Wright State University, University of Dayton, and Cedarville University.

According to the official Air Force Marathon website, there were 13,500 participants in the event this year, which included the full marathon, a half marathon, a 10K run and a 5K run. Those 13,500 runners also represented all 50 states. In total, there were 2,400 volunteers who made this year’s marathon a success.
