Springboro Schools Hosts Google Symposium
Google, the multinational technology company specializing in internet related services, held a symposium at Springboro High School on Thursday, Sept. 20th.

Google reached out to Springboro Schools last year (2017) to request that the district host a Leadership Symposium centered on technology in the classroom, as it correlates with curriculum. Google stated Springboro Schools was chosen as a host due to the district’s high usage, nationally, of the Apps for Education, as well its continued usage of technology in the classroom.

Springboro Schools was spotted for not only being early adopters with Chromebooks, and using the Google Suite of Tools, but for the district’s continued high growth and usage in a short time span. The symposium will bring in school district leaders throughout the state of Ohio to showcase how Springboro has transformed teaching and learning through the use of technology.

The day included classroom tours, discussions, and demonstrations by staff, including; Amy Romes and Sheryl Winter, Educational Technologists with Springboro Schools, as well as Andrea Cook, Director of Instruction.

Personnel from Google and CDWG, a national educational technology company, were represented to showcase new products and discuss new information. Teachers from Southwest Ohio up to Northwest Ohio attended the symposium.
