SCCSD Statement Regarding Contract Agreement

At the July 24th, 2018 federal mediation, agreement was reached between Springboro Schools and the Springboro Education Association and the Springboro Classified Employee’s Association. Both unions, certified and classified, representing the district’s teachers and staff respectively, voted to accept the Board of Education’s offer on Tuesday, July 31st, 2018.

The Springboro Schools’ Board of Education unanimously voted to approve the contract at the August 2nd, 2018 Board of Education meeting. Superintendent Dan Schroer said, “This agreement will allow all sides to place full attention on what matters most in our district: educating and serving our more than 6,000 students, their families, and the Springboro community.”

Terms of the contract, which are retroactive to July 1st, 2018, are as follows:

2018-2019 – A step, plus a 2.0% increase (certified), a step, plus 2.25% (classified), health insurance is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), with the district paying 80% of the employee’s premiums and 50% of the employee's deductible

2019-2020 – A step, plus a 2.0% increase (certified), a step, plus 2.25% (classified) health insurance is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), with the district paying 80% of the employee’s premiums and 50% of the employee's deductible

2020-2021 – Reopener, in order to determine the amount of salary increase and health insurance*

*3-year contract with the third year serving as a reopener, to only discuss salary increase and health insurance, as no salary increase or health insurance adjustments are slated, at this time, for the third year of the newly agreed upon contract.
