Hockey for a Cause
SHS and CHS Hockey
Every year, the Springboro High School and Centerville High School Varsity Hockey Teams dedicate one game during their respective seasons to charity. The game is known as, “Hockey for a Cause," and will be played on Saturday, December 7th, at 7:00 pm at South Metro Sports (10561 Success Lane) in Centerville, OH.

With "Hockey for a Cause," both SHS and CHS work together to select a worthy cause in the surrounding community. This year, the teams are raising money for the Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots.

Admission to the game is $6 for adults and $4 for students/senior citizens. Admission is free with the donation of a new children’s toy. All proceeds from ticket sales and fundraising at the game will be donated to the Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots.

In previous years, "Hockey for a Cause" has raised money for mental health programs at Dayton Children’s Hospital, The ALS Association, the Michael J. Fox Foundation, American Cancer Society, Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association, Autism Speaks and the Carson Kolzig Foundation, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the Leukemia Research Foundation.

The mission of Toys for Tots is to ensure that no child goes without a smile on Christmas morning. Since 1947, Toys for Tots has provided 566 million toys to over 258 million children all over the United States. During the 2018 holiday season, the Toys for Tots Campaign in Butler and Warren Counties provided Christmas for 16,393 children in the community. Each year the need for smiles grows and so does the need for support. The Panthers and Elks Hockey Teams are proud to join the effort in 2019.

The community is invited to attend and cheer on both these great teams for a high school hockey rivalry, while supporting an important cause in our community - December 7th, 7:00 pm at South Metro Sports (10561 Success Lane) in Centerville, OH.
