Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents and Students,

I would like to take this time to welcome all of you to Dennis East Elementary School.  The excitement of a new school year is building as the 2008-2009 school year is just around the corner beginning August 26th.  I am looking forward to the return of the Dennis East students and staff.  Our building is quite lonely in the summer when our students are not in session.  The Dennis students’ energy and passion to learn creates a positive atmosphere for all to enjoy.  The Dennis East teaching staff has been endlessly working during the summer to ensure that the 08-09 school year will be a success.  Parents, please inform your child if at anytime during the school year he/she has a question or simply needs to speak to someone, he/she should know that the teachers and I are always available to help in anyway possible.

I am sure that all of you are very excited to know who your classroom teacher will be during the 2008-2009 school year. All homeroom class lists will be posted at the entrance of Dennis Elementary on August 18th at 3:00pm. To make this process easier for parents and students, all class lists will be posted on the district website at 12:00 noon on August 18th.

All Dennis East Elementary students and parents are invited to tour their school on Monday August 25th  from 2:15-3:15 pm.  This will give all students a chance to locate their classroom and to meet their teacher.

All Dennis East parents will receive a letter from me before the start of school outlining a few processes that will make their child’s school year begin smoothly with no stress.  Each letter will contain five white nametags. Please complete each nametag with your child’s first and last name, homeroom teacher, and bus number. Each student should wear one nametag per day during the five days of school.  On August 26th, when students arrive at Dennis Elementary, there will be staff members and volunteers available to assist students who need help finding their homeroom. Your child’s completed nametag will greatly enhance our ability to direct your child to the correct homeroom.  Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
