Welcome to Springboro Community Schools’ web site. It is our hope that you will find this site helpful and informative. All of us work hard to keep this site current with the most up-to-date information. As a result, if you see something that is outdated or needs addressed, please contact the webmaster at webmaster@springboro.org . We will be happy to work with you on whatever changes and/or additions need to be made.

Springboro Community Schools continues to grow with about 220 to 250 new students each year. For the 2007-2008 school year, we closed the school year with 5,250 students registered.  We had predicted that our enrollment would have been 5,258.  We are very pleased that our predictions continue to be this close.  Our prediction for the 2008-2009 school year is to end the year with 5, 515 students.  We continue to be the largest employer in the Springboro community, and enjoy a strong working relationship with our local governments and civic organizations.

In the Spring of 2008 we began construction of the EduCare building.  This is the combination medical and athletic facility that is being built behind the current high school football stadium;  CareFlight Field.  This 40,000 sq. ft. facility is part of the joint partnership between Springboro Community City Schools and Miami Valley Hospital.  At no cost to the taxpayers of Springboro, this three story building will provide training space, locker rooms, coach’s offices, training rooms, and two floors of doctors’ offices to serve the Springboro Community.  This facility is scheduled to be completed June 2009.  After the 2008 football season, work will start immediately on adding bleacher space to the home and visitors sides of the stadium.

As we closed out the  2007-2008 school year we once again learned from the Ohio Department of Education that we received an Excellent Rating.  This is the 6th Excellent rating in the last 7 years.  Congratulations to the staff, students, parents, and community for making this happen again.  We had the largest number of National Merit Scholars in the history of the district. We also had one student who scored a perfect 36 on the ACT examination.

Academically, Springboro Community Schools has established itself as one of the best school districts in the state of Ohio. We can not, however, rest on our accomplishments.  Our students are preparing for a life in a world that is yet to be defined and vastly different than the one in which their parents have and will live.  Our students must be prepared to work in a global work force competing for the best jobs with other students around the world.  This challenge will shape our schools, our curriculum, and our future.  I challenge each and every one of you to help us keep our students competitive.

I would like to personally invite all of our residents to visit your schools at any time. We would love to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.

Respectfully,

Dr. David D. Baker
