Springboro Schools is proud to announce Carrie Hester will serve as Superintendent of Springboro Schools. At their June 30 meeting, the Board of Education approved a five-year contract for Carrie Hester as Superintendent effective August 1, 2022.

“Having served this great community over the last four years, I am honored to be able to take the next step and lead Springboro Schools as Superintendent,” said Carrie Hester. “I will continue to provide the consistent leadership each student, parent, staff and community member need, in order to contribute to the academic, social, and emotional growth of all our students.”

Carrie Hester joined Springboro Schools in March 2018 as the district’s Director of Human Resources before transitioning to Assistant Superintendent of Operations. Serving as Interim Superintendent during the 2019-2020 school year, Mrs. Hester moved to her role as Assistant Superintendent of Operations in Springboro Schools after the hiring of Superintendent Larry Hook in August 2020. Just this week, the district announced Carrie Hester would serve as Deputy Superintendent of Springboro Schools only acting as Superintendent in the event Mr. Hook is absent, as well as focusing on the district’s strategic plan. The Board of Education for Forest Hills School District (FHSD) approved Mr. Hook as Superintendent of FHSD at their June 29 meeting.

“Thank you to Mr. Hook for all his contributions to our district during two very challenging years,” said Springboro Schools’ Board Member Dan Gudz at the June 30 board meeting. “We wish (Mr. Hook) all the best.”

Last month, Mrs. Hester was approved by the Northwest Local Schools’ Board of Education to be hired as their new Human Resources Director, which was to take effect Aug. 1, 2022. Mrs. Hester will instead remain in district as the new Superintendent of Springboro Schools.

“Ms. Hester has had an outstanding career in education,” said Board President Dave Stuckey. “Carrie’s leadership, experience, and knowledge of our district will guide our great administrative team, teachers, and staff on continuing to provide all our students with an excellent education. Along with our Treasurer Ms. Terrah Stacy, who is also beginning a new five-year contract, we look forward to a consistent, strong administrative team leading Springboro Schools.”

Also at their June 30 meeting, the Board of Education approved a two-year contract for Matthew Tudor as Assistant Superintendent effective August 1, 2022. Since 2016, Mr. Tudor has served as Principal at Edwin H. Greene Intermediate in Sycamore Community Schools. There, Mr. Tudor led the implementation for Project Based Learning (PBIS), OTES 2.0, as well as the development of individualized student learning plans. Prior to this, Mr. Tudor served for three (3) years as the Director of Student Services and EMIS at Hamilton City School District. There, Mr. Tudor worked to align policy to practice with school districts in Butler County, implementing programs around parent/student education to improve behavior in schools.

Tudor received his Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education from Northern Kentucky University and his Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati.  Tudor holds credentials including a Superintendent License, a Principal License, and Ohio Middle School License, as well as being an OPES 2.0, OTES 2.0, and OSCES Credentialed Evaluator.

“It’s an honor to be joining Springboro Schools as the Assistant Superintendent,” said Matthew Tudor. “Innovative approaches to education are crucial, and I look forward to creating a relevant learning environment for the students and our staff, in a joint effort with our community partners to focus on the social and emotional well-being for all.”
