At his Oct. 15 press conference, Governor Mike DeWine announced that Warren County will be moving from orange to red on the Ohio Public Health Alert System.
As it relates to Springboro Schools, our district will still continue to offer both our Model A and Model B learning options, with no changes to the learning process at this time. Our district has been in contact today with numerous other districts in Warren County, as well as those districts that border ours. These districts will also continue to offer their current learning model options.
The Warren County Health District (WCHD) is not recommending the closing of schools, businesses, or the cancellations of activities at this time. According to the WCHD, twenty-nine (29) counties will be red on the Ohio Public Health Alert System. This indicates that this trend is not happening just in Warren County, but is happening across the rest of the state, as well, as we move through the fall season.
In Warren County, according to the WCHD, there has been a steady increase in COVID-19 cases since the end of September. The increasing spread of COVID-19 has been seen among residents having family gatherings, smaller groups of friends/neighbors getting together, weddings, funerals, sports team members going out together after games/practices, workplaces becoming more lax in following precautions, and in individuals not wearing masks.
Springboro Schools is committed to providing our students, teachers, staff, and community members with a safe and healthy environment. In order to maintain a healthy environment, the district will follow the mandates and requirements set forth by the federal government, Center for Disease Control (CDC), Ohio Governor, Ohio State Health Department, Warren County Health District, and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) as it relates to protecting the health of students, teachers, and staff.
