Balloon Launch for 4th Grade Student with Brain Cancer

Balloon Launch

Five Points Elementary held a Balloon Launch today, Friday, November 12, to show support for Reagan Scacchetti, a 4th Grade student who is battling brain cancer. Reagan was diagnosed eight (8) years ago with Hypothalamic/Optic Chiasmatic Glioma, an extremely rare form of brain cancer. In true Reagan fashion, this 4th Grade student from Five Points Elementary has been fighting like a champion over the last eight (8) years.

Reagan's family and friends joined the entire staff and all students at Five Points Elementary to help celebrate the balloon launch, which consisted of over 200 purple balloons. Community members were encouraged to join everyone in supporting Reagan, an amazing young girl, who is the kindest soul and one who is always willing to help others.

In order to show support for Reagan and the Scacchetti family, students and staff were encouraged to wear purple (“Purple Out”), Reagan’s favorite color. In downtown Springboro, the city decorated all along OH-741 with purple ribbons, balloons, and signs of encouragement. A fundraiser was started last week for t-shirts printed by Image Mark-It that read, “Team Reagan Our Rockstar.” All proceeds from this fundraiser are going to Dr. Peter de Blank Research for low grade gliomas at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Reagan’s Honor.
