Just last week, students in Mrs. Bates’ 7th Grade Social Studies class at Springboro Junior High (SJHS) wrote “Thank You!” notes and well-wishes to welcome home a Vietnam Veteran.
Mr. Clark, the father of Mrs. Oney, Educational Assistant, was invited to be a part of an Honor Flight trip to Washington, DC. Upon returning home from the trip, the Vietnam Veteran was greeted by his daughter (Mrs. Oney) and granddaughter, Lilly, a Springboro High School Senior, at the airport with the student-created poster and well-wishes. The idea was brought about as a way to show respect and provide a proper homecoming that so many Veterans were unable to receive.
