Springboro Schools is proud to announce Kelsey Warren will serve as Food Service Manager of Springboro Schools. The Board of Education approved a two-year contract for Kelsey Warren as Food Service Manager effective August 1, 2023.
“I am very excited to be coming back to my hometown and to be a part of the Springboro Schools’ team,” said Kelsey Warren, a Springboro native and graduate of Springboro High School (’10).
Since 2018, Kelsey Warren has served as Child Nutrition and Wellness Director at Sycamore Community Schools. There, Ms. Warren managed a staff of forty (40) employees, while creating USDA compliant breakfast and lunch menus for the district. Ms. Warren also oversaw the implementation of the high school’s “Coffee Bar.” Before her time in Sycamore, Ms. Warren spent two (2) years as the Assistant Child Nutrition Director for Lakota Local Schools.
Warren received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Cincinnati. Ms. Warren will continue to serve as Vice President of the School Nutrition Association of Ohio Board and President of the local chapter of the School Nutrition Association of Ohio, as well as sitting on the Unified Purchasing Council Foodservice Committee.
Kelsey Warren will be taking over the position of Food Service Manager, after the announcement of current Food Service Manager Kathy Poor’s retirement, effective July 31, 2023. Poor began serving as Food Service Manager at Springboro Schools in August 2014 where, during her time, Kathy obtained certification in ServSafe as a Certified Dietary Manager, and as a School Nutrition Specialist, while also being an active member of the Southwestern Ohio Educational Purchasing Council Food Service Committee.
“During Kathy’s nine years of leadership at Springboro Schools, she has led the food service department with professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and dedication in providing excellent customer service and quality meals to our students and staff,” said Scott Gilbert, Director of Operations at Springboro Schools. Superintendent Carrie Hester echoed Mr. Gilbert’s sentiments, “It has been an honor having Kathy lead our Food Service Department. She will always be a part of the Panther family, and I am thrilled to have Kelsey Warren join our amazing team!”
