Clearcreek Elementary Sensory Garden
Sensory Garden
Throughout the month of July, the Clearcreek Elementary Sensory Garden has been getting the royal treatment! Drew Rambacher and his team completed new additions to the Sensory Garden as a part of Drew’s Eagle Scout Project. Drew designed and installed a bell wall, drum center (complete with bongos), and a noise maker station. Drew also hand crafted a storage bench, sanded and painted metal wind chimes for the pergola, weeded, and power washed the bridge.
Then, a volunteer event was held, where members of the community came out to work for several hours to help spruce up the Sensory Garden. The group of volunteers sanded and applied the first coat of stain to the bridge, weeded, trimmed all the landscaping, applied a fresh coat of paint to the tires and stepping tiles, cleaned out bird houses, and secured tiles on the play deck. There were even two active bird nests in the bird houses!
Following this up, Raul Hidalgo and his team at Southern Landscape Management, came in and mulched the Sensory Garden space, putting the final touches on the garden’s landscape to make it look gorgeous.
This has been work full of positivity, spirit, and bringing those is our wonderful community together to give this highly utilized space some attention!

The Sensory Garden has one more event coming up on August 3rd at 6:00pm. The group of volunteers will be staining a 2nd coat to the bridge and outlining the steppingstone tiles. For more information or to learn how you can help, visit the Clearcreek Elementary Sensory Garden Facebook Page.
