On Friday, May 6th, the Springboro Board of Education approved the contract of Brian Bales to become the new Head Boys Basketball Coach at Springboro High School. Bales comes to Springboro after leading the Franklin Wildcats program since 2007. Coach Bales previously held the head coaching position at Miamisburg High School from 2005-2007 and led the Miami University Hamilton program from 2003-2005.
During his tenure at Franklin, Coach Bales recorded a 267 – 120 record which includes 10 Southwest Buckeye League Championships. Bales has been named District 15 Coach of the Year three times (2012, 2014, 2015) , AP Division II Coach of the Year twice (2012, 2015), and OHSCBA Coach of the Year in 2015.
Bales has served as Athletic Director at Franklin High School. He will transition to a new role at Springboro as the district’s Coordinator of Behavior and Intervention Services.
The district will be holding a “Meet the Coach” Night on Monday, May 9th at 7:00 pm in the High School Library. We would like to invite all current, former, and future Springboro Panthers and families to attend as we welcome Coach Bales to Boro!
