Brian Bales Introduced to Springboro Community
Brian Bales
On Monday, May 9, the Springboro community had the pleasure of formally meeting Coach Bales at a “Meet the Coach” event held in Domino’s Gymnasium at SHS, home of the Springboro Panthers.

Originally scheduled to be hosted in the SHS Media Center, the “Meet the Coach” night was moved to Domino’s Gymnasium due to the expected large number of attendees. All current, former, and future Springboro Panthers, as well as their families, were invited to attend and welcome Coach Bales to the Springboro community.

With his family by his side, Coach Bales spoke to the crowd of students, parents, and community members Monday night, expressing his excitement to be joining Springboro Schools. "We are beyond excited to be bringing in Brian Bales as the next Head Basketball Coach,” said Austin Rhoads, Springboro Schools’ Athletic Director. "Brian's coaching accomplishments are outweighed by the impact that he has made on young people. He is a culture builder, a leader, and a role model that we expect to rejuvenate our program."

Brian Bales will serve as the district's Coordinator of Behavior and Intervention Services for K-12, in addition to being the Head Boys’ Basketball Coach. “Brian Bales will not just have an impact on the court, but in our classrooms and our community as a whole,” said Superintendent Larry Hook. “Brian brings a culture of positivity, and we look forward to seeing the impact he has on our students as the Coordinator of Behavior and Intervention Services.”

Bales comes to Springboro after leading the Franklin Wildcats program since 2007. During his tenure at Franklin, Coach Bales recorded a 267-120 record, including 10 Southwest Buckeye League Championships. Bales has been named District 15 Coach of the Year three times (2012, 2014, 2015), AP Division II Coach of the Year twice (2012, 2015), and OHSCBA Coach of the Year (2015).
