Before we begin welcoming back students for the start of our 2020-2021 school year, the district will be holding “New to the Building Visits” at each school building for Grades 2 - 12. This will only be for students attending school in-person (Model A) for the 1st quarter. While it was previously addressed that there would be no in-person orientation days during our virtual building reopening meetings, the district felt it necessary to give students who are new to their buildings (to start the year) an opportunity to familiarize themselves with their new school building.
These “New to the Building Visits” are designed to only be attended by the following In-Person (Model A) students:
- If you are a new student to the district
- If you are a student who is transitioning to a new building (Going into Grades 2, 6, 7, or 9)
- A student on an IEP
At these “New Building Visits,” students can expect to receive their schedule for the school year, go over their class location for 1st period, and practice on their lockers (Grades 6, 7, and 9).
Details on the dates/times for each building are listed below. If you have any further questions, please contact your school building directly.
Clearcreek Elementary:
For families who did not register their kindergartener by Friday, July 31 or first grader by Friday, August 21, you weren’t able to be scheduled for screening. Children who weren’t able to make their screening appointment will be screened during the first week of school. The child will receive a teacher placement letter in the mail after registration is complete and your child is placed into a classroom. Mrs. Gross, Clearcreek Counselor, will be reaching out and connecting with families who registered after the deadlines listed above.
Dennis Elementary:
2nd Grade Building Visit
A staff member will contact families to set up an appointment time to visit the classroom and meet their teachers. Appointments will be scheduled for September 2 (between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00am) and September 3 (between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm). Masks/face coverings will be required.
Students New to the District
School counselors will contact new families in grades 3, 4, and 5 to schedule an appointment time to tour the school and meet their counselor. Appointments will be scheduled September 2 - September 4 (between the hours of 9:00 - 11:00am). Masks/face coverings will be required.
Special Education Building Visit
Intervention specialists will contact families to schedule an appointment time September 1 - 4. Masks/face coverings will be required.
Five Points Elementary:
