Online Learning Starts Friday, March 20
Instructional Schedule: Online instructional videos and assignments from teachers will be posted on Google Classroom according to the daily schedule identified below. The posting of these assignments (Electives/Specials) will begin on Friday, March 20. Each instructional video will be accompanied by an assignment that students will be responsible for completing. Student grades on these assignments will be posted in Progress Book under 4th quarter grades. New videos and assignments will be posted for each subject area on the days listed below only.
  • Monday and Wednesday: ELA, Social Studies, and Foreign Language
  • Tuesday and Thursday: Math and Science
  • Tuesday and Friday: Electives/Specials
Regarding the instructional mode of operation, class procedures will vary for each teacher. That is, some teachers will have live whole group video sessions, while in other classrooms, students will watch a previously video-taped lesson from a teacher or other outside source before completing their assignment. Students should check each of their teacher’s Google classrooms to find out what instruction will look like over the next upcoming weeks.

Google Classroom Codes: Teachers will be utilizing their Google Classroom as their main source of providing instruction.Students can access these videos and assignments from their teacher’s Google Classroom webpages. Most teachers already have Google classroom webpages set up. If they do not, such as students beginning a new class for the 4th quarter, students can visit this Google Sheet to find the necessary Google Classroom code.

Office Hours: All teachers will have scheduled office hours. The purpose of office hours are for teachers to answer parent and student questions via email, phone, or video chat. Office hours will be posted on teachers Google Classroom, teacher webpage (if applicable), and Progress Book. These office hours can change from day-to-day based on a teacher’s availability; any changes will be communicated via the interfaces listed above.

Other Information: Students are encouraged to check their school email often. Students are also encouraged to communicate via email with their teachers regarding any questions they may have. All instructional-related and tech-related questions should begin with first contacting your student’s teacher. The teacher will help answer the question or forward the question onto the necessary personnel. The link to the district staff directory can be found here . Please email Principal Jon Franks at [email protected] if you received a letter on Thursday, March 12 in regards to the need to access the internet and/or technology devices AND you have not yet received this technology.
