The Springboro High School (SHS) Purple Star Committee hosted, “SHS Military Signing Day.” Eight (8) enlisting Seniors from the Class of 2024 were proudly recognized at the ceremony held in the SHS Auditorium. Among those in attendance were family members of the students, staff, SHS Principal Kyle Martin, Superintendent Carrie Hester, and Mayor John Agenbroad. In 2021, a Proclamation was read by Mayor Agenbroad announcing May as Military Appreciation Month in the City of Springboro.
Lt. Col. Todd Berrier (USAF, Ret), SHS Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, AFJROTC, read the opening remarks, and introduced each enlisting Senior to the stage. MSgt. Michael Thiergart (USAF, Ret), Aerospace Science Instructor, AFJROTC, was also in attendance.

Quinton Bergeron (Marines), Owen Berrier (Air Force), Justus Blanton (Air Force), Gabriella Lawrence (Air Force), Braylen Roberts (Air Force), Drew Wilson (Army), Reagan Yost (Air Force), and Autumn Zimmerman (Air Force)
Afterwards, a reception was held for students and families in the SHS Atrium. Thank you to the SHS Purple Star Committee for hosting this event.
All six (6) school buildings in district: Clearcreek, Dennis, and Five Points Elementary, Springboro Intermediate, Springboro Junior High School (SJHS), and SHS have been recognized has Purple Star Award recipients by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE).
