District Donates Book Bags & School Supplies to El Puente
El Puente
Springboro Schools and the Springboro Community Assistance Center (SCAC) donated more than thirty (30) book bags to El Puente, a community organization aimed at offering a variety of services to Hispanic families in the Dayton area. Included with the book bags were a wide arrangement of school supplies from notebooks, pens/pencils, glue sticks, and paper.

El Puente families and students vary widely in English literacy aptitude, as many of them are taught English at school, but primarily speak Spanish at home. El Puente places a focus on the community’s development and enrichment of education, social and civic engagement.

Springboro Schools was excited to work with El Puente, as the district has previously raised money to help support the Warm Hugs Fund, a non-profit program through the Dayton Foundation, which has gone on to benefit several El Puente families over the years.

“Thank you to El Puente Board President Tony Ortiz for stopping by the district to pick up the book bags and school supplies, which will hopefully make an impact on many families around the area,” said Scott Marshall, District Communications Coordinator for Springboro Schools.
