SHS Student Sings National Anthem at Springboro Rotary Event
Kennedy Reid
This past weekend, on Saturday, Sept. 11th, was the First Annual "Run for Rotary 5K." A event organized by and to help support the Springboro Rotary Club. While it was a beautiful day to run, the event fell on a solemn day of reflection and remembrance. A tribute was done to start the day, in order to honor those lost as a result of the Sept. 11th, 2001 tragedy. Springboro High School (SHS) Sophomore Kennedy Reid was invited to sing the National Anthem.

The Clearcreek Fire Department, as well as the Springboro Police Department were on-hand to take part. Thank You to Mayor John Agenbroad for the opening ceremony remarks, Kurt Rinke and the CAMO team for sharing their personal stories, and Kennedy Reid for singing a beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner.

If you missed the event this year, be on the lookout for the "Run for Rotary 5k (2022)." Walk, run, bring your pets, kids or both! Have a great time while supporting Rotary projects for the Springboro community.  Want to meet a Rotarian? Join the Springboro Rotary Club Friday mornings at 7:30am in the Springboro Performing Arts Center.
