My name is Mrs. Gross and I am the new school counselor at Clearcreek elementary. My family has just moved back to the Buckeye state from Colorado, where we spent three years at the US Air Force Academy. I have a MA in School Counseling, hold an Ohio pupil services license, and belong to both the American School Counselor Association and the Ohio School Counselor Association.
I am so excited that Clearcreek will offer guidance classes in the specials rotation this year. It offers a unique opportunity to ensure that ALL students receive character and preventative education to protect and develop their social-emotional health and well-being. You can find more information on what we will be learning this year on this site.
Additionally, I will work responsively with students in both small group and individual sessions. Some typical issues I can assist with are anxiety, self-regulation, social skills, and positive thinking.
My personal counseling philosophy is rooted in a strengths-based approach to problem solving, with the belief that every child has the ability to grow and develop positive mindsets and behaviors. This can be accomplished through relationship building, character education, and self-esteem development.
I encourage you to reach out to me at [email protected] with any concerns or questions you may have about our guidance curriculum or if you feel your student could benefit from a small group or individual setting for work in a specific area.
