Springboro Schools Custodial and Maintenance Departments take great pride in maintaining the facilities in the district. Through an ongoing preventative maintenance program, our staff identifies and addresses areas of the buildings that need renovation, replacement, and/or repairs.
In 2012, our district completed an energy retrofit project that produced significant energy savings for the district. Most of the lighting was replaced in all of the schools, which allowed the district to borrow enough funds to replace the 27 heat pumps in the Junior High. This is an example of how the district is committed to finding ways to creatively improve its facilities without burdening the local taxpayer.
The district recently completed an energy audit and has developed a capital improvement plan. Springboro Schools is in the process of evaluating the cost savings that can be picked up to implement the suggested energy conservation measures. More information will be provided as this audit is analyzed to maximize efficiency and savings.
