The money students earned at home from their chores was donated to Dennis Elementary’s “Elf Spirit Fundraiser,” a schoolwide effort to raise funds for the SCAC to help families in need during the holidays.
These 2nd - 5th grade students did a variety of chores to help out at home, raising a total of more than $3,800 throughout the week. The chores included: helping care for younger siblings, cleaning the house, helping prepare for Thanksgiving, and more.
Dennis Elementary donated $2,500 to the SCAC to help with making the holidays a little brighter for families in need right here in their community.
The Springboro Community Assistance Center was created in 2007 to assist families in need of food and other services. Most of the families who are helped are working hard to overcome the challenges of layoffs, single parenthood, or insufficient wages to support the family. All of these issues directly impact the children and their ability to thrive at school and within the community. The goal of the SCAC is self-sufficiency and improved quality of life for all family members.
