Five JROTC cadets were top finishers in the Annual Springboro
Optimist Club Student Speech Contest and the Annual Rotary Club of
Springboro Four-Way Speech Contest.
The Optimist Club Speech
contest involved students from grades 7-12. The topic for the contest
was, "Where are my roots of optimism?" JROTC cadet Daniel Huynh took
home second place, while Cadet Jonas Yu placed third.
In the Rotary Club contest, three JROTC cadets placed first through third. Competition was for students
in grades 9-12. The speech topic required each student to select a
topic of their choice and apply the Rotary Club Four-Way test method
within the speech (Truth, Fairness, Goodwill/Friendships, & Benefit
to All).
Cadet Hannah Culp won the contest. Second place went to Cadet Kaitin Nicely, and Cadet Tori Kenline placed third.
Cadet Culp will go on to compete in the Rotary Club District competition, which will be held the second week of April.
