ATTENDANCE POLICY

Summer School offers students the opportunity to take courses for original or make-up credit.  Due to the limited number of days to meet standards for issuing course credit for summer courses, daily attendance is REQUIRED.  Students absent more than one day in a semester course will not receive credit for the course.  Please plan your vacation and work schedule with summer school dates to avoid conflicts.

Sixty contact hours are required to give ½ or ¼ credit for a semester course.   Teachers may adjust the instructional day to accommodate activities and meet the required contact hours.  Teachers will provide a calendar no later than the first day of class.

Refunds: No refunds will be made after the first day of Summer School (May 29th)  Staffing and course offerings will be based on registration.

STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Summer School is a continuation of the regular school program.  All policies and procedures of Springboro High School and the Board of Education, including dress code, will apply.

Violations of the Student Code of Conduct may result in removal from summer school with no refund.

Credit Recovery During the Academic Calendar

For students who have failed a course in a previous school year, we offer a credit recovery option using the APEX learning system.  Provided that students have room in their schedule, we place them in a specialized study hall that provides support to students for the purpose of completing the course.

We also offer after school lab hours with content specific support.  These after school lab hours are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm in A106.  It is expected that students in Credit Recovery to report to these after school hours.
