A Welcome to Springboro Junior High School

Springboro Junior High School serves over 1,000 students in grades 7-8 with approximately 75 teachers and staff members. To those of you who are joining the Springboro Junior High community for the first time, and to those of you who are returning, we extend a warm welcome for the 2019-20 school year. As partners in education, the Springboro Junior High staff is confident that you and your child will have a successful and safe school year. I am confident that the 2019-20 school year will be a positive experience for both students and parents.

Our mission at Springboro Junior High school is to provide a top-quality education within a safe learning environment that allows each student to maximize their educational achievement, focusing on a student-centered learning environment that meets the individual academic needs of each student.

Springboro Junior High School is dedicated to the implementation of technology for the purpose of e-learning and connecting students with local and global issues. Technology is used as a means to learn, flourish, and prepare students in the 21st century. While students are encouraged to purchase their own technology, there are a number of chromebooks in each core academic classroom devoted for student usage.

Springboro Junior High School is committed to financial literacy and career exposure, as each student is required to take a nine-week Careers and Consumer Concepts course during 7th or 8th grade.

Springboro Junior High School offers a comprehensive set of elective course offerings, as students can choose from amongst 23 course offerings for their elective classes. Within these choices includes foreign languages; band; strings; stem-based Project Lead the Way; computer application, coding, and design; physical education and health; and art classes. Springboro Junior High has added three added Project Lead the Way courses for the 2019-20 school year – Computer Science for Innovators and Makers & App Creators.

A comprehensive education is prioritized, as there will be a focus on social and emotional learning. In addition, students will learn about having pride in their school and respecting of themselves and others.

Therefore, I believe it is vital that we work together as a team to support each other as we foster growth and educate our students.

You can help your student have a successful school year by ensuring regular and punctual school attendance, by helping your student develop good work habits, by practicing respectful behaviors at home, and encouraging your student to become involved in school-sponsored athletics and clubs.

Please never hesitate in contacting me with any questions or concerns.
