Junior high is often a very exciting and sometimes challenging time for students and parents. School counselors are an integral part of the school team and we are focused on supporting students and families, promoting growth and skill development, and helping to decrease any barriers to student academic or social and emotional growth and success. School counselors contribute to the junior high educational experience through the implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program and collaboration with school staff, parents, and the community to help create a positive, safe, and respectful school community to maximize the academic and personal achievement of students. The school counseling team works with students in the areas of academic, career, and social/emotional development. Activities include large group instruction, individual counseling and planning, group counseling, and much more.
