BYOT Recommendations

In Springboro Community City Schools, students in grades two through 12 are encouraged to Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT). BYOT is a key factor as we continue to build a 21st Century learning platform for all students. BYOT allows a broader use of technology across grades and subject areas because BYOT supplements the district’s technology. Springboro Schools recommends that students use Chromebooks. The great thing about Chromebooks is they all do the same thing! They are easy to use with a quick start-up, full-sized keyboard, and all-day battery life. They are also compatible with the e-texts, programs and online curriculum used in our schools.
Recommended specifications
  •  Chromes OS
  • 4GB of Memory
  • Battery life of at least 8 hours is recommended
  • Data plan is not recommended. Data cannot be used at school. Students must use district Internet access in school buildings.
  • Accident damage protection/warranty is encouraged
  • A protective sleeve or case (recommended for all students and required in grades 2-5)
Where to buy?
You can find Chromebooks at stores including Walmart and Best Buy, or online on Amazon or the Google Store.
