PTO Meeting Agenda - February 5, 2024

Present at Meeting: 

Welcome/Introductions 

Treasurer’s Report - Kristen Tyler 

* Current Checking Account Balance: $38, 397.57 

Vice President update 

* NIght Owls- Thursday, February 8th at 6pm 

Staff Appreciation 

* Breakfast platters from Costco and juice for teacher in service day 2/12 ? Candy buffet with leftover candy and some chocolate candy cello bags and scoops- Set up for PTO will begin at 8am 

* March or April Bus driver blitz- February 14th at 9am: Valentine’s Day Card with $5 Bigby gift card

* Meal for teachers: Parent Teacher Conference March 7th (Smoothie bowls??) 

Hope House 

* Kick off is today- last day for the collection Friday 02/09 

* Winning class will get a popcorn and pajama party 

* Each classes items will be counted at 10am and 2pm and stored in the gym spreadsheet with running tally 

* Towne Church will let us use their van to take items to Hope House 

Principal Updates 

* Kindergarten registration- Begins February 8th 

* PTO Board- Positions will be posted during the Kindgarten Registeration push for incoming parent involvement 

Walk-a-thon 

* Last year the total cost of t-shrts was $5,630 one change this year is that teachers will wear their shirts from last year the exception being new teachers and extra for classrooms Our total amount raised is $4,050 - about $1800 (tentative- awaiting 937 quote) short PTO will be a Gold sponsor to make up the difference (UPS will be donating signs for their contribution)- 

* Our highest sponsors came from facebook and principal communication ? Jenn Welter will be in charge of the event 

* Set up 99 Pledges - 3 weeks before 

* Order t - shirts today (Monday, February 5th) 

* Parent letter will be sent out explaining Walk-a-thon ahead of the event 

Preschool Prom March 8th 

* We were asked to purchase 7 trays from Philly Pretzel Factory at $42 a piece and popcorn. GFS has 3 foot bags of popcorn that can feed 30-40 kids. I offered to pick up the popcorn. I will place the pretzel order and a member of their team can pick up the pretzels. This is under $500 so no vote needed. 

Upcoming Events 

* Military Breakfast for Month of the Military child- does anyone want to help me with this event? It is an early morning before school- PTO will support the event
