April PTO Meeting Agenda
April 5th, 2022

- Playground Shade Update
   *vote on the approval for sealed engineer drawing for city code PTO voted yes for
approval for $800 cost if needed. Jenny will email Steve Ellis from recreations outlet
which is the shade company to see if he already has one we can send to the city.
- Ukraine Fundraiser
* $730 raised so far as of on Monday. PTO will take a picture Friday with our check the
students raised to send to the Ukraine
-Night Owls THIS Thursday
- Military Muffins April 14th 8:30-9:00 am
*Current active military member families the school will send out invitations via email
and it is in the newsletter. Our counselor will keep a list of who is attending. PTO will
provide the muffins and/or donuts and juice once we have a count. Katie will pick up
supplies and bring to school Wednesday afternoon.
- Flower Sale and Pick Up
* Flower sale total $12,800
*Pick Up Date April 30th
*Lunch at the K will order ahead and send a menu with options for parents to choose
*Volunteers : have 13 spots filled for unloading for first shift plus national honor society
students (10) 2 volunteers for sorting time and 1 for the afternoon
*Pick up time 1-3:30pm
*Letter signs just by letter individually much taller to see
*Lunch will be provided by PTO for volunteers

- Vote to Approve "Field Trip" for Kindergarten
   *Woodland Performance that will coincide with current science lessons. They will
come to the school and perform this Friday April 8th
   *$650 PTO voted yes
- Yearbook Update it is being sent to the printer
   *30 extra copies for anyone who forgot to order the extra copies will be sold first come
first serve exact cash only at given time day.
- First Grade Send Off

   *1st Grade Splash night: Sending you off with a splash Friday, May 20 th (weather
permitting) time TBD popsicles, water balloons, and fire truck from the fire department
with a water spray will find out from Fire Department if they can come. PTO voted yes
- Field Day
*20-25 volunteers are needed AM and PM shifts available there will be a sign up genius
for this. Teachers will lead the stations and volunteers will be there for set up. Parents
are all welcome to park and come watch
*Kona Ice will be available to come it will cost $1,000 every student and facility member
will be covered and have a treat
- Staff Appreciation Week
*$5 or less
*Recognize all staff: aides, specials etc each day recognize a different group of
facility. Monday: Office staff, Tuesday: Specials Wednesday: Educational support staff
Thursday: Cafeteria and janitors Friday: homeroom teacher
   *meals – PTO provides the meals for 4 days and the Newspring Church provides one
meal
   *suggestions mon-fri teachers and gifts PTO will divide list and call to see if we can
have gift cards donated
   *raffles – Gift Cards ideas

*Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. Once a quarter students with no
discipline write ups receive 30 minutes of choice fun activity to celebrate their
achievement
*Tara will be leaving as Treasurer deadline to apply is April 30 th Financial treasury
background is recommended
*First day of school supplies are on sale now
